Warders Cottages
In 2023, Buckingham Redevelopment Co was engaged as the Head Contractor for Stage 2 of The Warders Hotel project. Over a six-month period, BRDC completed a full restoration and adaptive reuse of twelve historic Warders Cottages, transforming them into a boutique hotel offering a unique heritage experience. These cottages, originally built by convicts in 1853 as part of the Fremantle Convict Establishment, are listed on the National Trust and other heritage registers. The buildings form part of the broader Convict Establishment/Police Precinct at 45 Henderson Street, Fremantle.

Scope of Works:
  • Internal and external restoration works
  • Installation of modern hotel amenities
  • Upgrades to electrical, hydraulic, fire, lift, and mechanical services
  • Integration of a new lift for upper terrace access
  • Preservation of heritage elements with a contemporary design twist
Specialist trades were engaged to ensure that modern construction methods did not compromise the heritage integrity of the buildings. The result is a seamless blend of historic charm and modern comfort.
